Sea Girt Beach

Sunday, July 19th 2009

We left NYC the night before at midnight. It took over two hours to get home, making it around 3 am when we went to sleep. (church is at 9 am...) Needless to say, we didn't make it to 9 O'clock church :) But there was another ward in Princeton that we were going to try to make at 1pm. When we got there, it didn't exist.. :( We missed church.

So, we went to the beach instead. :) (what a weird name for a beach, huh? I kept saying "it's like dirt, but with a G."

Jessica's friend Sergio met up with us and we headed out. The beach was really fun. The water wasn't actually very cold. None of us really planned to get in, but after getting wet by a few waves, i thought, why not?

This is BEFORE and AFTER i was hit with the waves. (notice in the after picture i don't have sunglasses? yep. the ocean ATE my Rx sunglasses!) (apparently it ate my hoodie too... Jk. I took that off before...) I know. I know. I look SUPER HOT. Ha ha!

But yeah, it was super fun. Sergio and i battled the waves and rode some of them in. He was scared, like a little girl. Ha ha!

Later that night, we went back to his place and watched "Gone baby gone" while we did my laundry. It actually was a really good movie, despite all the harsh language. (rated 10 on kids-in-mind.com)

Headin home!

We slept in a little before jessica drove us into New York City. (only $6 in tolls) We met up with my friend Natalie and her new little baby girl Mylie and went to lunch at a sandwich place called Lenny's. She told us it was about twenty blocks away, to which jessica's draw dropped. But twenty blocks (one direction) in New York isn't too bad. If you go the other direction... you'll be goin for a while! It was really good! It's great having friends that live in the city cause they can hook you up with all the good local places to eat.

Afterward, we wanted to get some frozen hot chocolate at the famous Serendipity 3. (where they go in the movie Serendipity) We each got our own (because the menu says there's a minimum of $8.50 per person...Robbery!) Natalie and i had no trouble drinking ours, because we both have major sweet tooths. (teeth? that doesnt sound right...) She got the original and i got mint. Jessica got cherry. (i don't think she liked it very much...) But we all had a good time together.

Jessica finished driving me to the airport. (although it was a little hard with the GPS in the city...but we made it just fine) Jessica told me on her way home she had to pay $11 in tolls!

Overall, it was a really good trip!
