Six Flags: Great Adventure

We got to Six Flags around noon. (we had to sleep in after getting home so late from seeing Harry Potter...) It seemed like EVERYONE in New Jersey was there! (and they probably were, because we kept seeing commercials where if you brought in a Coke can, you could buy one get one free admission. --the military discount saved us an extra penny. Wahoo!)

Almost every single ride required that you leave EVERYTHING in a locker. They wouldn't allow anything on a ride. So we concluded that we'd just put all out stuff in one at the beginning, instead of paying each time we got on a ride. This proved good and bad. Good because we didn't have to lug all our stuff around all day. Bad because i left my camera in my bag, and thus the only pictures we have were taken on our way out.

This is Jessica and i in front of Superman's Ultimate Flight. You ride the roller coaster on your stomach. (as illustrated below)

We decided to just ride every ride once and then we'd leave, however long it took us. It was pretty fun because, most of the rollercoasters we couldn't see completely. We'd just get in line and have NO IDEA what we were in for until we were actually on it. Adding the element of surprise definately made things more fun. Notice how HUGE this ride is. We had NO idea. As we were going up, we were thinking, "it's STILL going up...". Once we got to the top, we could see, FAR in the distance, the rest of the track.. We were like, "is that part of the rollercoaster we're on now?! HOLY!" It was super intense! So intense, i almost completely blacked out toward the end... After this we only went on one more ride before we left.

We managed to make it on every single rollercoaster with the exception of two: the Kingda Ka

(i was secretly glad that this one wasn't running that day... It's INSANE! Jessica really wanted to do it, but i wouldn't have, if it were open.)

The other was El Toro...

I was willing to go on it (even though, it's HUGE!) but jessica wasn't because it's wooden and she thought it would be super jerky. So, we ended the day around 9:30 PM, and hour before the park closed, having gone on all the rides but these two. Not bad.

Before we left, i got a picture of this, which we saw throughout the day and i just thought was so funny... "Give it BACK!"

It took us a while to find our car... because we didn't memorize where we parked... Oops! But luckily, jessica found it after we split up to cover more ground.

We were really lucky too that it wasn't super hot. Those of you who've been to the east coast know how humid it can get, especially in the summer. But thankfully, it wasn't bad at all.

It was an awesome day!
