Year in a minute

APRIL 2013:
My birthday: though i can't remember what i did or what i got (except a rice cooker from Jairo..) but i had an awesome bridal shower that sorta felt like a birthday party so... it was great.

We got married in Salt Lake City.

MAY 2013:
We went to hawaii (hopefully for the first of many times...).

We moved into our first apartment. When we got back from our honeymoon, we were locked out and our key was at his parent's house, and... his parents......... were in Spain. For those of you that dont know where Spain is, it's REALLY far away. Our landlords didn't have a spare.. That was a great thing to come home to after driving 5 hours from Las Vegas... The landlords eventually found a spare and we got in. It's a lot more funny now than it was back then, THAT'S for sure.

We watched all 7 seasons of "30 Rock".

We spoke for the first time as a couple in our new ward. Jairo subsequently got a calling to be the deacon's assistant advisor.

Jairo went to UVU for summer semester, Jaime worked.

JUNE 2013:
Jairo's birthday. I surprised him with a hotel in Park City and some little book stores in Salt Lake City the next day.

On the 12th, i celebrated my 10 year anniversary of being endowed in the temple. i can't believe it's been that long.

He got his work permit so he could legally work full time, in America.

We watched a lot of "That 70's show" together..

JULY 2013:
We went to a cabin with Jario's family for the 4th of July. It was new for me. I'm use to the parade, craft fair and fireworks but instead we were staying in the canyon in the 2002 winter olympics room.

Helped my mom move from Orem to... orem.

AUGUST 2013:
Jairo took his first semester off since coming from Spain and got a full time job helping handicapped people.

SEPTEMBER 2013:
We don't have cable but we're still managing to watch a LOT of TV. mostly because of netflix but a little hulu. I really liked "The Mindy Project", "New Girl" and "Brooklyn 99". i also watched America's next top model, religiously.  I.....can't keep track of the many many shows jairo has watched ;)

OCTOBER 2013:
I took a trip to visit my sister in New Jersey. We went to an apple festival somewhere in Philadelphia where  we picked our own apples, got fresh apple cider and picked our own pumpkin. I actually flew into NYC and jessica met me at penn station. She brought me a matching turkey hat (to hers) but i didnt wear mine. she got a lot of weird looks, and compliments all day.

The best thing we did was buy a groupon to rent bikes and ride around central park. i've never done that. it was so cool!

We ran into a contestant from americas next top model and i got a picture with him. Jessica insisted. It's cool to see famous people but i never want to but them. I wanted to put the picture on here, but it's on my old phone and i dont know where it is, but this is who i saw at NYU.

.
Our first couple costume as a married couple : Salt and pepper shakers. I wore a black shirt with a "P" on it, he wore white with an "S" and we both wore gray beanies.

I got called as the Primary secretary. BEST. CALLING. EVER. i laugh every week.

I got set apart as a temple worker.

DECEMBER 2013:
our very first christmas tree!

Jairo bought me my first iphone (4). Aside from two or three features, i think i'm more of an android person...

 at breakfast before our interview
We had our immigration interview (like you see in the movies, to see if we're really married) so Jairo could become a legal permanent resident. He was a lot more scared than I was. His family was quizzing us with questions like "what color is her toothbrush?" and "what is her favorite food to eat" but when we got in there the guy basically just asked how we met and how long we dated. that's it. But Jairo sure was sweating bullets the whole time.

christmas dinner with mom and jon
a date up at gardner village. we got there 5 minutes before it closed (we had no idea what time it closed but i wanted to show him. he loved it and we planned to go up again later, though we still haven't yet)

my cute little nephew kameron came and visited our apartment

jairo's brother and sister in law came from iowa for christmas. they spent almost three weeks here. it was fun to see them.

Our first family photos with the Dealbas.

This is the only one i think we look good in. Everyone looks good in this one. It was really snowy and you'll notice i'm not wearing boots. hardly any of us are.....

These are some cute little birdies i bought to decorate. Mama, dadda and a baby.

Jairo got approved to be a permanent resident! He can now leave the country and come back. His parents took us to dinner at PF Changs to celebrate.

JANUARY 2014
Peterson "Christmas" trip to Disneyland. It was supposed to be all the family, but Jason had to work, Jonathan moved to Tennessee and Jake decided to stay home. My family loves Disneyland but they'd never been at Christmas time. I thought it would be fun for them to see. Jason got us a great deal through the military for the tickets.

@ LAX waiting for our shuttle to Disneyland. Our flight left at 6am from SLC and we just went straight to disney.

Jairo REALLY wanted to ride the mark twain boat.
My mom's friend tammy, mom, missy (sister in law) and me in new Carsland

On the tea cups. jessica has a video of this that was HILARIOUS. we laughed so hard people thought we were drunk :)
jairo getting a ticket to watch "steam boat willie"
jairo hates rides... so i went on splash mountain (my FAVORITE!) by myself. they have a new "single riders" line so i got on without a wait, TWICE!
my mom came as a single rider too, and she got to ride with some NUNS! (my mom is in the back)
the matterhorn! we didnt ride it this time round though

 in front of the matterhorn
cool christmas lights in Bugs land
us on the tower of terror. look at the GOON behind me.

Us at jason and missy's in san diego

Jairo started school again at UVU and is working for a new company called Chrysallis.

I found out that i FINALLY got into the radiology tech program at SLCC and will be starting this fall! Many of you know i applied for the program a few years ago and was waiting on an impossibly long waiting list. During the wait, they changed their admission requirements and you could either jump through a million hoops to get in sooner or simply stay on the wait list. i tried jumping through the hoops a few times, but they didnt even have some of the hoops set up (so i'm not sure how it's fair that they required them...). anyway, i eventually gave up and just stayed on the wait list. but this fall i got motivated and started to complete the requirements (updated vaccinations, CPR certified, take entrance exam, background check, etc) and at the last minute i decided... not to apply. I just felt like, maybe i shouldn't. ??? A few weeks later, i got a call saying they had someone drop out  and there was one opening left and it was mine if i wanted it. i took it as divine intervention that i was supposed to go to school this fall. I'm excited. but nervous. i'm not sure how everything will work out (paying bills, making dinner, etc) but i'm sure it will. hundred of people do this school / marriage / family business stuff everyday and are totally fine.

i drew this one night. can you tell who it is??

Jairo really likes to draw and paint. he loves abstract things and LOVES picasso. this is something he painted one day.
FEBRUARY 2014
The present.

My hair got REAL long. i've never had it this long before. the one other time i had it long was in high school, but this is a little longer (but just barely)
I'm altering a dress for becky's wedding!

it's a little more "hippy" than i'd like so i'm taking some of the bulk off the sides. i dont know if you can tell a difference from one side to the other... there's a little less curve on the left. just trying to make it a little more flattering...

Still working. Trying to get things in order for school in the fall...

Loving this new TV show called "The Goldbergs". Oh my gosh, it's the best. They have the BEST LINES and so good to remember the 80's :)

for our valentines date we went up to the ice castles in midway and watched "Frozen" it was really fun. you got to go inside.
valentines dinner at kneaders before the movie
some of the ice castle. a piece of art that you can go inside!

The grand finale...........................................................................we're..........................MOVING! so long to our first little cute apartment. i thought we'd be together a little longer, but i guess it's time to move on. and so we move... just down the street (one block to be exact). but it's got a little more room and that is exciting.

and that is the last YEAR of our lives, in one minute :)
